FAQ: How do I use the Inbox tab on a document? Can I reply from Zudello?

The Inbox tab, found in the sidebar of the document viewer, provides access to the email thread associated with a document if that document was originally created from an email sent to a Zudello inbox address.

Functionality:

  1. View Email Thread:

    • Displays the original email content (sender, recipients, subject, body) and any subsequent replies within that email thread that were also processed by Zudello.
    • Allows you to see the email context directly alongside the extracted document data.
  2. Reply to Emails:

    • Yes, you can often reply directly from the Inbox tab.
    • Clicking Reply or Reply All opens a composer window.
    • You can type your message, select a "From" address (if multiple inboxes are configured), and send the email directly from Zudello.
    • The reply is sent to the original sender/recipients and also logged within the Inbox tab thread in Zudello.

Availability:

  • The Inbox tab only appears if the document originated from an email sent to a configured Zudello Mailbox.
  • Manually uploaded documents will not have an Inbox tab.

Permissions:

  • Viewing the tab requires INBOX:MESSAGE_THREAD#VIEW.
  • Replying requires INBOX:MESSAGE_THREAD#UPDATE and potentially INBOX:MESSAGE#CREATE.

Use Cases:

  • Quickly referencing the original email request or context related to an invoice/PO.
  • Replying to the sender (e.g., acknowledging receipt, asking a question) directly from the document record, keeping the communication linked.
