FAQ: How does Zudello handle addresses?
Handling addresses accurately from documents can be challenging due to formatting variations. Zudello uses a combination of extraction, learning, and stored records:
-
Extraction: Zudello attempts to identify and extract address blocks (like "Bill To", "Ship To") and their text content during initial document processing. However, structuring this extracted text perfectly into fields like Street, City, Postcode is often unreliable due to source variations.
-
Stored Addresses: Zudello relies on having accurate, structured address records stored within the system for the learning mechanism to work effectively. These can include:
- Team Addresses: Configured in Settings > Team Addresses, representing your company's locations.
- Supplier/Customer Addresses: Stored within the respective records in the Relationships module. These might be synced from your ERP.
-
Address Selection UI:
- When manually coding address fields, Zudello provides an interface to search and select from these stored addresses.
- The Address Select Extension, if enabled, may enhance this interface (e.g., providing better suggestions).
In Summary:
Zudello focuses less on perfectly extracting addresses and more on learning which text block on a document corresponds to which correct, stored address record in the system. Manual correction by users is key to teaching the system these associations for future automation. Maintaining accurate Team, Supplier, and Customer addresses within Zudello (or syncing them from your ERP) is crucial.
