Tagging documents
Zudello makes it easy to organise and filter your documents using tags. Tags provide visual cues that help your team track documents and get quick updates. This guide explains how to create, apply, and manage document tags.

Tags can also be applied to relationship records, like suppliers, and dimensions.

- Create clear, descriptive tag names that your team will understand
- Use consistent tag colours for similar categories
- Review existing tags before creating new ones
- Keep your tag structure simple and meaningful
Adding tags to documents
To add an existing tag to a document:
- Open the document.
- Click the tag icon at the top left.
- Select an existing tag from the drop-down menu.
- Search for a specific tag using all or part of the tag name.
- Click Save to apply your changes.
Creating new tags
To create a new tag:
- Open a document.
- Click the tag icon at the top left.
- Click + in the tag menu.
- Select a colour for the tag.
- Type a name for the tag.
- Click Save.
The new tag is applied to the current document.
Removing tags from documents
To remove a tag from a document:
- Hover over the tag you want to remove.
- Click the X that appears.
- Click Save to confirm the changes.
Editing existing tags
To edit an existing tag:
- Open a document.
- Click the tag icon at the top left.
- Click ... next to the tag you want to edit.
- Click Edit.
- Edit the colour and/or name of the tag.
- Click Save.
To remove a tag from the list of tags:
- Open a document.
- Click the tag icon at the top left.
- Click ... next to the tag you want to edit.
- Click Delete.
- Click Yes to confirm.
- Click Save.
Zudello removes deleted tags from all documents automatically.
Filtering by tags
You can filter your documents to find those with specific tags:
- Click the filter icon at the top of the submodule.
- Under Advanced Filter, click Add.
- Find Tags in the drop-down, and click the arrow to expand it.
- Click Tags - Tag.
- The Operator defaults to Is, but you can change it by selecting from the drop-down.
- Select the tag value you want to filter by.
To remove a tag filter:
- Click the filter icon at the top of the submodule.
- Click the bin icon next to the filter, or click Clear all to remove all advanced filters.
