Reviewing Validation Issues

Zudello automatically validates your documents against configured rules to ensure data accuracy and compliance. This guide explains how to identify and review validation issues using the visual cues provided in the interface.

Best practices​

  • Regularly check the Issues column in table view for quick identification of problems.
  • Address Error level issues promptly as they block processing.
  • Review Warning level issues to ensure data accuracy.

Identifying Validation Issues​

Zudello highlights validation issues in several places:

  1. Table View - Issues Column:

    • When using the Table View layout, the Issues column displays the highest severity validation level for each document.
    • Clicking the level (Error, Warning, Info) opens a pop-up detailing the specific issues.

  2. List View - Issues Icon:

    • When using the List View layout, an icon appears on the document card indicating the highest severity validation level.
    • Red Icon: Error (Blocking)
    • Yellow/Orange Icon: Warning (Non-Blocking)
    • Blue/Grey Icon: Info (Informational)
    • Clicking the icon opens the pop-up detailing the specific issues.

  3. Document Viewer - Banner:

    • When you open a document with validation issues, a banner often appears at the top, summarising the highest severity issue.

  4. Document Viewer - Field Icons:

    • Specific fields related to a validation issue may display an icon next to them. Hovering over the icon often provides more context about that specific issue. (Example: ABN validation icon)

Reviewing the Issues Pop-up​

Clicking the Issues column entry (Table View) or the Issues icon (List View) opens a detailed pop-up:

  • Grouping: Issues are grouped by severity level (Errors, Warnings, Info).
  • Details: Each issue provides a description of the problem.
  • De-duplication: If the same issue applies to multiple lines (e.g., missing account code on several lines), it's typically listed only once.
  • Review Action: Clicking Review within the pop-up opens the document directly for correction.

Understanding Validation Levels​

  • Error (Red): Blocks document submission or approval. Must be fixed to proceed.
  • Warning (Yellow/Orange): Highlights potential issues but does not block processing. Review is recommended.
  • Info (Blue/Grey): Provides informational messages, no action required.

Resolving Issues​

After reviewing the issues, open the document and make the necessary corrections to the relevant fields. Save the document to trigger re-validation. The Issues column/icon will update accordingly. For guidance on handling blocked submissions, see Handling Blocked Submissions.
