When you use the Place Order action on a Purchase Order (PO) in Zudello, you are presented with two options:

  1. Email order to supplier: This option generates a PDF of the PO and sends it via email from Zudello to the supplier address you specify.
  2. Place order without emailing: This option updates the PO's status and records without sending an email from Zudello.

Choosing "Place order without emailing" achieves the following:

  • Updates the PO status to Placed.
  • Sets the is_placed, placed_by, and placed_at fields.
  • Logs the action in the Audit History.
  • Does NOT generate or send an email from Zudello.

When to Use This Option:

  • You have already sent the PO to the supplier through a different channel (e.g., supplier portal, manual email, EDI).
  • You only need to update the PO status in Zudello to reflect that the order has been communicated externally, allowing subsequent steps like receiving or invoice matching to proceed.
  • Your workflow doesn't require emailing the PO PDF from Zudello.

This option provides flexibility by allowing you to record the "Placed" status in Zudello even if the actual communication happened outside the platform.
