Recurring sales orders

Some customers order the same items on the same rhythm, week after week or month after month. With recurring sales orders, you save one of their orders as a template and put it on a schedule, and Zudello raises a new sales order for you every time it's due.

Recurring sales orders work the same way as recurring purchase orders. This guide covers what you need to get started, and the Recurring orders guide covers each step in detail.

Best practices

To get the most from recurring sales orders:

  • Use recurring orders for customers with standing orders, where the items and quantities rarely change
  • Review each order the template raises before submitting it, so pricing and availability are current
  • Pause a template when a customer puts their standing order on hold, instead of removing its schedule
  • Remove the schedule when a standing arrangement ends, so no further orders are raised

Required permissions

Recurring sales orders use the permissions you already have on sales orders:

  • To make an order recurring, you need permission to create sales orders
  • To set, change, pause, or remove a schedule, you need permission to create or update sales orders
  • To use Order now, you need permission to duplicate sales orders

Recurring orders also need to be turned on for your sales order document type before Make recurring appears. See Configuring recurring orders or contact your organisation administrator.

Making a sales order recurring

To make a sales order recurring:

  1. Navigate to the Sales Orders submodule
  2. Find and open the sales order you want to repeat
  3. Click ... at the top of the document
  4. Click Make recurring
  5. Next to First order, select the date and time you want Zudello to raise the first order
  6. Select how often the order repeats from the Repeats drop-down
  7. Click Create template

The order you started from is untouched. The template is a copy, and every order it raises is an ordinary sales order that starts in your team's default status for new sales orders, and follows your normal review and submission process.

Managing your sales order templates

To view your templates:

  1. Navigate to the Sales Orders submodule
  2. Click ... on the toolbar above the list
  3. Click Recurring templates

From here, you can manage sales order templates in the same way as purchase order templates. See the Recurring orders guide to:
