Tutorial: Import Data (Simple Example)
Goal: Add multiple new records (using Items as an example) to Zudello efficiently by preparing a CSV file and using the data import tool.
Persona: Kenji Tanaka (Data Analyst)
Manually creating many records like items, suppliers, or dimension values can be tedious. Zudello's import tool allows you to prepare your data in a standard CSV (Comma Separated Values) file format and upload it for bulk creation. This is particularly useful during initial setup or when adding large batches of new data.
This tutorial focuses on the basic import process for creating new records. We'll use creating new Items as an example, covering preparing a simple CSV file, initiating the import in Zudello, mapping your file columns to Zudello fields, running the import, and reviewing the results. (Updating existing records requires using UUIDs - see the Bulk Data Updates tutorial).
Steps:
- Prepare CSV File for New Records
- Initiate Import and Upload File
- Map Fields and Run Import
- Review Import Results
Let's start by preparing the CSV file.
